Behaviour
Query analytics data by audience behaviour, primarily how long they listen and when.
Drop-off rate
Group results by session duration.
This query provides different results between podcast or stream queries.
Podcast analytics uses the duration of files to map listening sessions into a percentage duration. The results contain 10 buckets, covering 10% each. This can more appropriately be described as "listen through rate". Using percentages instead of absolute time like "minutes" caters for reporting over episodes with very different durations.
Warning
Most podcast files are downloaded in one big transfer when consumed via podcast apps, and even browser based listening may always request the entire file instead of consuming it in segments. This always skews the listen-through rate towards 100% for podcast.
Stream analytics uses listening duration in minutes, but grouped into 25 buckets of data, each covering 5-minute sections up to 2 hours and then one final bucket for all sessions longer than 2 hours.
Day of week
Hour of day
Day and hour
Group results by the listener's day of week and hour of day.
Use to display heatmaps of weekly activity.
Day parts
Group results by the listener's daypart, for example "Breakfast Peak" or "PM drive".
Uses the UK Rajar standard day parts.
Each result contains a human friendly name and the day part information.
